Kwame is the first international student to be elected as the General Secretary of The University of Manchester Student Union.

Originally from Ghana, Kwame spent four years working in the Ghanaian cocoa sector where he was puzzled by the unfair value cocoa farmers got from the cocoa-chocolate value chain. This puzzlement inspired him to come to the University, with the help of the Global Development Institute's Merit scholarship, to pursue an MSc in Globalisation, Trade and Industry to gain a more contextual understanding of the issue.

Kwame holds an MBA in General Management, MSc in International Development: Globalisation Trade and Industry, BSc in Project Management and a HND in Marketing. He also has more than eight years combined professional experience in the information communication technology, oil and gas and cocoa-chocolate industries. Working with The Quantum Group Limited, he executed marketing, product development and project management duties with both local and international companies. He worked on high-value projects with international and local stakeholders like Buhler Group, Caotech B.V., Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), Quantum Terminals Group, Ghana National Gas, Geospatial Enabling Technologies, and Expresso Ghana.

Kwame is inspired to lead and has occupied several leadership positions in all aspects of his life. He was the Disciplinary Prefect in high school, Judicial committee Vice-Chairman for the Student Representative Council of Kumasi Technical University; President of the National Service Personnel Association at the Offinso North District; Organiser and later President of St. Patrick Youth Council; President of the Quantum Staff Association; Founder, President and Lead dancer of the Holy Family Cultural Troupe and President of the UMSU Ghanaian Society. He has also been accepted as a student member of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institution.

Kwame's future plan is to be a trade and industrial policy specialist in the agricultural sector. He also loves dancing and cooking.
