Fellowships in Widening Participation for three students

The Advanced Biomedical Materials CDT is excited to announce that three of our PhD students have recently been awarded Fellowships in Widening Participation. Congratulations to Leona, Liam and Dom - we look forward to hearing more about your activities throughout the year!  Widening Participation Fellows are employed by the Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team while completing their PhD studies to deliver a range of activities with a range of learners from primary pupils through to sixth formers.

Fellows are expected to develop and deliver activities and resources based on their research area, with the aim of raising awareness about the options available to prospective students, and inspiring them about their subject area.

Fellows are recruited for their passion and enthusiasm for their subject and as well as their ability to communicate with a younger audience. The scheme gives the fellows chance to develop their skills in science communication and teaching, with many of our fellow continuing to work in this area after their fellowship ends.
