GEIC announces new wave of membership

The new affiliate partners will form a supporting network of companies around the GEIC and National Graphene Institute (NGI) in the heart of Manchester to help create additional value for the next generation of graphene products and processes.

Partners including, Michael Page, National Graphene Association, Mewburn Ellis LLP, Potter Clarkson, and TransitionPlus have officially partnered with the GEIC with more to follow. Outside of the direct materials and engineering sectors, affiliate partners will help grow the community and facilitate the proactive approach of the graphene ecosystem in Manchester.

Graphene City is the ambitious vision from The University of Manchester to create a critical mass of scientists, engineers, innovators, industrialists, and IP expertise within the region. This will give companies the confidence that they can easily access all the knowledge and experience needed to develop graphene applications and processes.

James Baker, CEO of Graphene@Manchester said: “The Affiliate Membership programme is a key network which will allow our Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners to access the further systems and know-how they need to facilitate their projects and benefit from working with graphene.

“We provide world-leading graphene, materials expertise and state-of-the-art equipment and our affiliate network can help provide IP advice, specialist recruitment, business support and other resource to add value and accelerate the time to market.”

Zina Jarrahi Cinker, Executive Director of the National Graphene Association which is based in America said: "Graphene is a global material. This valuable partnership provides a path for graphene stakeholders in the two countries to connect with resources, services and business opportunities that will expedite the commercialisation of graphene globally."
