HCRI lecturer wins GCRF QR Fund grant

Dr Birte VogelDr Birte Vogel, Lecturer in Peace and Conflict Studies at The University of Manchester, has won a six-month GCRF QR Fund grant worth £65,000.

She won the grant with Ken Mcphail and Lara Bianchi from AMBS for a project that looks at the adoption of the UN Guiding Principles in conflict-affected societies. The case study will be in Sri Lanka and the project starts in February 2019.

Birte holds a PhD in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response (UoM) and an MLitt in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of St. Andrews.

She is also an Assistant Editor of the Taylor and Francies Journal Peacebuilding and an active member of the International Studies Association's Peace Studies Section.
