Increasing study spaces at Main Library and AGLC
We’re adding 250 new study spaces at the Main Library and the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons (AGLC) during December 2021 and January 2022.

When the work is completed, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of new study spaces with comfortable furniture, including individual desk spaces, focused study booths and tables for group work and discussion.
As part of these improvements, study spaces will be added to the Library Lounge.
Scheduled improvements
We’ll be carrying out the work over two stages:
- Stage 1 (Main Library only): Monday, 13 – Wednesday, 22 December 2021
- Stage 2 (Main Library and AGLC): Monday, 24 – Sunday, 30 January 2022
During these times, some areas of the buildings will be temporarily unavailable and there may be some noise disruption. Please ask a member of staff if you need help finding a book or a suitable study space.
We’ll be connecting the study spaces to power at a later date, and will let you know as soon as possible when this work will take place.
