International Mother Language Day 2023 Events

Creative Manchester is delighted to participate in UNESCO International Mother Language Day (IMLD) 2023, in partnership with Manchester City of Literature.

This year will be the 7th International Mother Language Day observed in Manchester, a celebration of the cultural diversity and the near 200 languages spoken across the city.

Creative Manchester has coordinated with partners and colleagues from the Linguistic Diversity Collective, Manchester Museum, Sheffield Hallam University and the Lakes International Comic Arts Festival to present the following events:

• 21 February, 10am-5pm - Comics Up Close conference: New perspectives in Comics 2023
• 12 April, 1pm-5pm - Looking for Languages: Half-term family trail around Manchester Museum
