Manchester students to sing at this year’s BBC Proms

Members of the University’s Cosmo Singers and Ad Solem will join the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Youth Choir,in a performance of Haydn’s The Creation in the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms on 29 July 2019.

Choral singing at The University of Manchester has continued to go from strength to strength since the appointment of our new choral conductor, Rob Guy, in 2017.

"Everyone associated with Manchester knows that our two student chamber choirs Ad Solem and the Cosmo Singers consistently give outstanding concerts," says Rob.

"It has been my mission to celebrate this excellence and to put Manchester on the map for vocal excellence.

"I am thrilled that our choral programme has now been nationally recognised with this invitation for these singers to join the BBC Prom Youth Choir.

"Our team of academic staff, vocal teachers, conductors and students have much to be proud of."
