Maths staff recognised for their innovative approach to Maths and Art

The work involved masterclasses for local primary school children based around the themes of "Random Walks and Tapestries" and "Symmetries and (Digital) Art". This is a new venture bringing innovative ways of relating art and maths. The team has been nominated in the category of "Outstanding Public Engagement Activity".

As nominees they have been called upon to produce a poster which will then go on a roadshow in January, to demonstrate the fantastic work that goes on across the Faculty in terms of public engagement. A judging panel will decide on a winner for each category entered and a Showcase Celebration Event will take place in the Great Hall, Sackville St on Wednesday 6 February 2019 which will be hosted by the Vice-President and Dean of Faculty, Professor Martin Schroeder.

Well done to all involved in this on-going commitment to Social Responsibility.
