MICRA webinar addresses the future of residential care
The MICRA webinar series featured Professor Chris Phillipson as chair on the 27 October event: COVID-19 and the Future of Residential Care
Care homes are one of the sectors that have been worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this seminar, our presenters discussed the impact of COVID-19 in residential care settings and considered what this means for future policy, regulation, and research within the sector.
The first speaker, Adelina Comas (London School of Economics), discussed the policy implications of COVID-19 for long-term care.
Professor Sheila Peace (The Open University) then considered how the CQC have responded to the pandemic, and how this differs from what the Housing LIN have been doing for the Housing with Care Sector.
Finally, Dr Laura Brown (University of Manchester) considered the impact of COVID-19 on care homes research and introduced the Care Homes Research Special Interest Group as a way of supporting research going forwards.
