Music students take centre stage at Creative Manchester launch

Manchester Vox.Manchester Vox - an a cappella vocal ensemble formed by students from the Music department and the Royal Northern College of Music - gave a spellbinding performance at the official launch of the University's new Creative Manchester project at the Whitworth Hall on 2 October 2018.

Other acts included a set by our klezmer ensemble and a performance of MusM student Annie Blin Bolt's composition Deeds, Not Words for voices and strings.

Through Creative Manchester, the University is investing £3.3m to support its ambitious arts, cultural and creative industries strategy, thereby positioning itself as a leading player at local, national and international level.

The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures will further expand its portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses centred on the creative industries.

New placement opportunities and employability initiatives will draw on the University's access to some of the best collections and cultural minds in the world, while taking creative ideas, skills and resources out into local communities to develop new activities and relationships.
