New blog on the voluntary and community sector and COVID-19

MICRA academics have collaborated with Ambition for Ageing on new Policy blog on the voluntary and community sector and COVID-19.

COVID-19 has forced us all to rethink how to maintain social connections in the neighbourhoods where we live and work. For the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE), this has meant a rapid rethink in how to provide services whilst observing social distancing guidelines.

In this new Policy@Manchester blog, MICRA's Sophie Yarker and Kirsty Bagnall of Ambition for Ageing along with Tine Buffel, Patty Doran, Camilla Lewis, and Chris Phillipson from the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group (MUARG), discuss the challenges the sector is facing and suggests an alternative approach to providing support.
