New Head of Department for Social Statistics at the University of Manchester.

A new Head of Department for Social Statistics at the University of Manchester has been appointed. Arkadiusz Wiśniowski joined the Social Statistics Department in 2015 and is now a Senior Lecturer. He also leads a Statistical Modelling Research Group at the Cathie Marsh Institute, is a Visiting Fellow at the Research School of Social Sciences, Australian National University, Adjunct Associate Professor at the Asian Demographic Research Institute, University of Shanghai, and Associate Member at the ESRC Centre for Population Change, University of Southampton. He holds a PhD in Economics and two MSc degrees from the Warsaw School of Economics. His research concentrates on combining traditional and new forms of data as well as developing statistical methods for analysing demographic change, with a particular focus on migration and mobility.
