Policy Careers

Career reflections from Social Science alumni highlight how their degrees gave them the skills, knowledge and experience to enter graduate careers in policy.

SSWorkNews1

Compiled by Professor Jackie Carter, from Social Statistics at the University of Manchester, new case studies from Social Science alumni highlight how their degrees from the University of Manchester - Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhDs - gave them the skills, knowledge and experience to enter graduate careers in policy. Their analytical, research and professional skills are mapped onto frameworks developed by Professor Carter drawing on the British Academy’s The Right Skills Report, and LinkedIn and McKinsey Industry reports. The alumni now work in local government, central government, international charities and leading businesses. For more details see Pathways into Policy – Social Science Alumni Stories.
