Reopening our Library buildings

The Library is working on reopening some of our physical buildings to pilot a click and collect service at Main Library, limited study space at the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons and limited access to Special Collections materials held at The John Rylands Library.

Our intention is to offer these initial pilots in late July, before we roll out additional access when it is safe to do so.

We’re working hard to get things ready as quickly and as safely as possible, with the health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff our top priority.

We’ll update you on our service offer via the website www.manchester.ac.uk/library and Twitter @UoMLibrary as soon as we can.

Once the click and collect service is live, you can also return items to Main Library. However, if you’re due to return in the new academic year or live locally, please hold on to your loans as you will not accrue any fines at this time.

We’re still committed to providing exceptional support and continued access to all our digital resources online during the campus closure, including our online portal where you can get help from a Library expert or book a virtual appointment.
