Research statement

A University of Manchester spokesperson said:

Following a challenge raised by a former member of staff in relation to a research misconduct process, the University has taken the decision to quash (i.e. cancel) the findings of research misconduct reached in that process to enable the University to commence a new process under its relevant code of practice to consider afresh the concerns of research misconduct. In accordance with the code of practice, the process will be conducted under the presumption of innocence. We are unable to comment further on the individual case.
