SALC staff generously donated to the Manchester Central Food Bank at Peters House in the run-up to Christmas 2022, helping families keep their kitchen and bathroom shelves stocked at a challenging time of year.

Food bankFrom November to December, School colleagues’ donations topped 114.1kg  of food and toiletries, as well as 28 chocolate advent calendars gifted in a special drive for local children.

Furthermore, in December, the Admissions team collected £47 from colleagues to do a shop for the food bank, stocking up on essentials including oil, cereal, tinned goods and UHT milk.

The final donation of the year in December was the initiative’s largest, with generous contributions from the Senior Leadership Team in Crawford House and Emma Rose, Head of Teaching, Learning and Student experience for Humanities. This drive ran in parallel to the SALC Admissions team’s toy collection for the Wood Street Missions appeal, supporting families in poverty in Manchester.
