The Office for Open Research officially launched

The University of Manchester’s Office for Open Research launched this week.

Led by the Library, the Office for Open Research supports the University's strategic vision, Our Future,  which sets out how we are committed to transforming our research environment to better support more open, transparent and reproducible research practices across the University.

Development of open research skills and practices

The Office is making it simpler to access a wide range of open research support and resources from across the University. By aiding the development of open research skills and practices, we are working towards more reproducible, efficient, and rigorous research.

During the launch event we heard about the future plans for the Office, strategically co-ordinating the University’s response to the open research agenda.

This includes the launch of the Open Research Accelerator Fund, supporting the development of open research skills and innovations in open practice. Applications for funding are welcomed from all University of Manchester staff and Postgraduate Research Students.

The Office will also be connecting communities with an interest in open research helping to create new communities of practice within the University.
