Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to speak to University of Manchester Students

Students at The University of Manchester will get a rare opportunity to engage in a discussion with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on Friday, 10 June 2022.

Students at The University of Manchester will get a rare opportunity to engage in a discussion with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an online Q&A session on Friday, 10 June 2022.

The UoM Ukrainian Society, the MOBILISE research team (led by Dr. Olga Onuch) and the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence will be hosting this discussion at Manchester Museum from 17:00 – 18:30. President Zelenskyy will attend virtually to address attendees and take questions from the audience. Those attending are strongly encouraged to arrive early, as spaces are limited.

The President of the Ukrainian Society, Mariia Horb, said “we are very excited to speak to our President at such difficult time and unite our voices with the struggle of the people of Ukraine”.

The event will be co-moderated by Professor Dimitris Papadimitriou of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and Anna Glew from the MOBILISE research Team. Prof.  Papadimitriou said, “The University and our Centre are proud to be hosting such a high profile event which will benefit so many of our students. We are tremendously thankful to the work that the Ukrainian Society has put into this and to the Manchester Museum for providing the venue for it”.

The event is free and open to all. Doors open at 16:30 and admission will be on a first come-first served basis. Access to the museum is via side entrance on Bridgeford Street.
