Urban Studies Foundation International Fellow award

Dr Wangui Kimari, from the African Centre for Cities at the University of Cape Town, has secured MUI’s second Urban Studies Foundation International Fellow Award.

Wangui will spend nine months at The University of Manchester, being mentored by Dr Henrik Ernstson and Prof Erik Swyngedouw on her research focusing on the lived experience of urban poverty in Nairobi.

Wangui will also be one of the participants at the 2018 Summer Institute in Urban Studies (SIUS), which is organised by the Manchester Urban Institute (MUI) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) with funding from The University of Manchester, NUS and the Urban Studies Foundation. SIUS 2018 takes place in Singapore 15-19 July.
