Winners of the Sabisu Coding Competition 2018 announced

This year, students taking the MATH20622 Programming with Python course led by Dr Stefan Güttel had the chance to participate in a Coding Competition. The challenge was to create a Python module for trading on the stock market, virtually buying and selling FTSE shares while trying to increase the portfolio value as much as possible. The competition was sponsored by Sabisu, a Manchester-based software company developing a digital workspace for the petrochemicals industry. Sabisu has a long-standing collaboration with the School, having been involved in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with associate Dr Tim Butters (now Sabisu's Head of Research & Development) and currently supporting CASE PhD student Steven Elsworth.

This years' winners of the competition are as follows:

First place: Cameron Patterson

Second place: George Miller

Third place: Konstantin Siroki

Fourth places: Rebecca Brown, Benjamin Collard, Edmund Han

All winners received certificates, and the first three received Amazon vouchers provided by Sabisu.
