Accessing your information

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives individuals a right to access their personal information.

This means that individuals can exercise the right of access to see what information the University holds on them, thereby allowing individuals to be aware of what data is being processed and to verify the lawfulness of this processing.

If you wish to make a request for a copy of the data held about you by the University then please complete our subject access request form.

If you choose to use this form you will receive an acknowledgement from OneTrust which is the case management system The University of Manchester uses to log and store subject access requests.

If you are submitting a request on behalf of a third party then please use the following form:

If you do not wish to use the form above, requests can also be emailed directly to dataprotection@manchester.ac.uk. Please try to provide us with as much detail as possible as to what the data is you are seeking and your relationship with the University as this will assist us in processing your request more efficiently.

You can also contact the Information Governance Office by telephoning 0161 275 7789.

Requests will normally be free of charge, however, a ‘reasonable fee’ may be charged in certain circumstances.

We will usually be required to respond to your request within one calendar month of receipt.
