Prof Ann Mahon - research

Research interests

Ann’s research interests are in the applied field of health services research and pedagogy. Her interests include programme and policy evaluation, models and modes of governance in the commissioning healthcare and action learning as a management education intervention. She has published and presented nationally and internationally. Her most recent publication is a realistic evaluation of health system governance published in 2015. She is currently writing a book on learning and personal development for public service managers. Current Research Project Action Learning in Management Education – how and why does it work and in what circumstances? This project is a realist synthesis of the literature relating to action learning as an educational intervention on management development programmes. Ann is the Principal Investigator on this project which has been approved and funded by the Alliance MBS Teaching and Learning Academy.
