Ph.D, RN, M.Ed, RNT.

I have been at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work for 15 years. I am currently  the Programme leader for the B.Sc. (Hons), Nursing Practice course, based at Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore.

In Singapore, I am also the module leader for the Supportive and Palliative care and the Manchester Leadership programme and the unit lead for the dissertation unit. My research interests focus around the social management of death, dying and bereavement. I am a reviewer for a number of journals including the International Journal of Palliative Nursing. I am interested in developing palliative care across the world and play an active role in The Chernobyl Childrens Trust (UK) a British charity promoting links with Belarussia. I have published extensively in the UK and abroad and spoken at a number of academic conferences in Britain and elsewhere.
