Nick joined the Department of Economics as a student on the Postgradute Diploma in Economic Development in 1988 and he hasn't left yet. He now lectures first year developmentand studying economics and second year development economics and looks after the MA Econ. Applied Economics projects. In the past he has lectured and tutored on many courses including: first and second-year macroeconomics and microeconomics, first-year mathematics and statistics, first-year computing, second year industrial economics and development economics, third year business economics, global economy and the third world and international trade, and postgraduate courses in econometrics, industrialisation and development, TNCs, technology and development, international trade and capital flows and macroeconomics for development.
He has provided research support on many projects but his publications are very very limited. They include an introductory chapter jointly written with Mike Artis in the book: The Economics of the European Union, OUP (which has now run to 3 editions), a jointly written discussion paper (with Nicola De Liso) called Dynamic Economics, Endogenous Growth and Technical Progress: Adam Smith's Relevance for the Contemporary Debate (published in the IDSE series of CNR Milan) and an article based on that discussion paper De Liso N., Filatrella G. and Weaver N.
