Academic requirements

Candidates must have an upper second-class honours degree or above and a master¿s degree with an overall mark of 60% or above, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience. Candidates must possess module marks of 55% or above. Additionally, they are expected to meet specific requirements of the intended PhD programme.

This funding is available to all nationalities.

PGR's who have started the PhD are not eligible.

3.) Research proposal maximum of 1500 words excluding references. Over length proposals will not be considered.

4.) A separate statement of fit to EPSRC research themes (maximum 250 words)

5.) Two academic references

Selection criteria

Studentships are allocated on the basis of the linkage of the research proposal to the research themes and academic merit.

Selection body

Departmental Selection Panel whose ranking is then confirmed by the School and final School rankings are referred to the Faculty of Humanities for a final decision.
