In 2012 the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at The University of Manchester signed a landmark agreement with CNPq. The programme created the Faculty, working together with CNPq to provide opportunities for PhD study for Brazilian students in the nine Schools in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at The University of Manchester (Schools of Chemical Engineering & Analytical Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth, Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace & Civil Engineering, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics & Astronomy).
