Unit grade information

The University of Manchester welcomes the provision of unit grade information which, like all other available information, will inform the consideration of applications.  Unit grades will not normally form part of offer conditions, except for Mathematics programmes.

Academic entry qualification overview

The minimum entry requirement for MEnt is normally a second upper class honours (2:1) degree or equivalent. Each applicant must also submit a project proposal (MS Word Document, 28kB). Overseas applications must supply full university transcripts and evidence of English language qualifications.

The programme can be studied full-time and part-time. The duration of the full-time programme will be 12 months, starting in September. The duration of the part-time study is between 2 to 5 years. Unit selection for part-time study must be agreed with the programme director in advance.

English language

If English is not your first language, you will need to take and meet minimum requirements for the following recognised English language qualifications:  IELTS (6.5 with no sub-test under 5.5); TOEFL (570 with 5.0 in TWE); CBTOEFL (230 with 5.0 in TWE).  Please contact us if you have an alternative qualification and we will make an individual assessment.

English language test validity

Some English Language test results are only valid for two years. Your English Language test report must be valid on the start date of the course.
