How to apply
The programme generally accepts applications each year from around October for entry the following September. Details on how to apply can be found on the website . You should follow the guidance carefully on how to make an online application.
Advice to applicants
In addition to the formal online application, candidates should send all supporting documents (CV, transcripts, certificates, English language ability (if applicable) and a personal statement).
About the personal statement
This should be a maximum of 1000 words summarising your motivation for PhD study and applying for the 4-year BHF programme , outlining any research experience and your career ambitions.

We hold a series of interview days in January-February each year. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview either in person or by Zoom/video conferencing if you are not currently in the UK.

Depending on the project you undertake, you may be required to undertake DBS screening. We will notify of you this requirement if appropriate.
