The Division of Human Communication, Development and Hearing within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health hosts a flourishing centre of research and teaching excellence in speech and language therapy.

With close links between all colleagues in audiology, clinical psychology and psychology, the teams have established relationships with professional colleagues in local health services.

PhD study opportunities involve research in many aspects of communication, the key themes being to understand and improve the diagnosis, assessment, management and treatment of communication disorders, both developmental and acquired.
