Career opportunities

Your electronic engineering master's degree from The University of Manchester will open up a world of opportunity, and the skills you develop will be sought across a wide range of industries.
For example, our graduates have gone on to forge successful careers in the development of microcontroller-based embedded systems; computer systems engineering; robotics; avionics; and automotive electronics.
Alternatively, you might progress into the design of automation and control systems for various industrial processes; the design of mobile and wireless communications systems; the development of real-time speech and image processing algorithms; or the design of guidance and control systems for unmanned intelligent underwater, ground and aerial vehicles.
Each year the Department hosts a careers fair, where you can meet with company representatives and discuss work experience options. These companies include ARM, Broadcom, Renesas, Jaguar Land Rover, Nexperia, EA Technology, National Instruments, Network Rail, BP, Shell and Siemens.
What's more, graduate with a degree from us and you'll be in demand among the top graduate employers (most targeted university in The Graduate Market in 2020 - High Fliers Research ). And with a year-long industrial placement under your belt, you'll be well placed to take the next step.
