Overview
The unit includes an examination of the relationship between sport and:-
- International development
- Economic growth
- Image enhancement and tourism
- Social change
- Urban regeneration
Although case studies are drawn from the wide range of contemporary academic research in the area, the main focus is on the impacts and legacy of sports mega-events, for example the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup
