The course unit will introduce the following content areas
- Organisational structure and design
- HR Planning and resourcing
- Learning and Talent Development
- Legislation and Employee Relations
- Organisational Culture
- Organisational Change
This unit aims to:
- Introduce students to key HRM concepts in business and in the leisure sector.
- Provide students with an understanding of the importance of successfully recruiting, retaining and developing people in an organisation
- Provide a basis for the further study of HR topics in Years 2 & 3.
Knowledge and understanding
Understand the role and function of HRM in business and in the leisure sector.
Understand the role of people in organisations as a basis for further study in Y2.
Understand how HRM interrelates with other business disciplines.
Demonstrate critical analysis and understanding of the people resources in an organisation.
Apply theory to case studies, ASP hosts and other familiar organisations.
Construct argument and a business case.
Digital literacy and research
Transferable skills and personal qualities
Group working, communication skills and presentation skills
