Applying for student finance
Students who are resident in England should submit their application for tuition fee loans, loans for living costs and non-repayable financial help via the student finance section of the GOV.UK website.
You should apply for your student finance early to make sure that your funding is in place at the start of your course. You don't need a confirmed place at university to apply for funding. You should use your first choice of course (this can be changed online at a later date if required).
The living cost loan and any non-repayable financial help that you're entitled to will be paid directly into your bank or building society account in three instalments – usually in September, January and April.
Students who are resident in other areas of the UK can apply via the links below:
- Students resident in Scotland – Student Awards Agency for Scotland website.
- Students resident in Northern Ireland – contact the Education and Library Board in the area where you live. Relevant contact details can be found on the Student Finance Northern Ireland website.
- Students resident in Wales – Student Finance Wales website.
If you wish to be automatically assessed for the Manchester Bursary, please ensure that you agree to share your financial information from your student finance application with the University.
