Government support for living costs is available to English domiciled undergraduate students in the form of the maintenance loan. The amount of support that you receive is dependent on an assessment of your level of household income by Student Finance England.
All eligible students (UK) can access repayable living support from the government. The amount of loan will vary depending on whether you live away from home, live at home with your parents or study at a university in London.
The maximum loan for living costs for 2021 entry is £9,488 per year for students living away from home and studying at a university outside of London. The equivalent loan rate for those living in the parental home during their studies is £7,987 per year.
Below is a table showing the amount of maintenance loan that is available, depending on your circumstances:
|Household income||Maintenance loan for students living in the parental home during studies||Maintenance loan for students living and studying at a University outside of London|
