Working with targeted groups

At Manchester we recognise that all learners have individual needs and some may need different levels of support in progressing to higher education (HE). That's why we work with various targeted groups, including able learners, young people from a care-experienced background and pupils from black and minority ethnic groups.

Able, gifted and talented learners

Manchester has a programme of activities for local schools and colleges that can support the work you undertake with your able, gifted and talented students.

North West Gifted and Talented (NWGT)

We work with NWGT to provide support for able learners and their teachers, parents and carers. NWGT works alongside HE institutions to enrich, extend and challenge the abilities of gifted and talented young people, aiming to improve the attainment, aspirations and motivation of these bright young learners.

To find out more about the work of NWGT, please visit the NGWT website.
