Reinmar served on the Senate and Board of Governors from 2012 to 2015 and re-joined in 2017.

Reinmar is a Reader in Neurodevelopment and Behavioural Genetics in the School of Biological Sciences. His group’s work seeks to understand how genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors interact and lead to increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders.

He studied biology, economics, psychology, law, sociology and at five universities in Germany and the UK, and completed his PhD in 2004 at the University of Cambridge. He was Senior Rouse Ball Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge, and Emmy Noether Fellow (2005–2007).

In 2008 he was awarded a Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Research Fellowship at The University of Manchester and a Group Leader Fellowship at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich.

He has been a panel member for NERC, The Wellcome Trust and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. He is Director of Postgraduate Research and Chair of the School Board in the School of Biological Sciences.
