Tesnime Safraou

Tesnime is currently the City and Community Executive Officer as well as a Director and Member of the Trustee Board of the University of Manchester Students' Union.

As part of her role, Tesnime works on amplifying student voices with a particular attention for social responsibility, ethical investment, housing and accommodation, sustainability, safety, and relationships with the City of Manchester and its local communities. At the core of her work lies leadership and change-making for student interests.

Prior to that, she was a student at Sorbonne Université, where she studied Applied Foreign Languages (Arabic, English and Spanish) before joining the University of Manchester, where she has been active in the student activism sphere, as well as in Student Affairs and Politics & Education committees in various student societies. She was also elected NUS delegate for the University of Manchester for the year 2021/2022.

Throughout her experiences, Tesnime has been involved in a multitude of skill-building environments, particularly volunteering in different charities, as well as public speaking through multiple debating societies and competitions, eloquence trainings and spoken-word performances.
