I work in metaphysics, the philosophy of language and aesthetics. I have a particular interest in truthmaker theory, the ontology of music and the philosophy of music generally. My recent work has been on topics including: pluralism about truth; truth's asymmetry; authenticity in musical performance; the ontology of jazz; musical profundity; and the metaontology of art. Links to my published books and papers are found on PhilPapers.
When I'm not doing philosophy, I like listening to music (classical, jazz, and popular), riding my bike (a Colnago c50), and drinking wine. On a good day, I get to do all three.
