In 2002 I obtained a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) working under the supervision of Professor Franscisco (Pancho) Tamarit. My research was focused on the dynamics of a class of complex magnetic systems called spin glasses. The particular mathematical analogies that these systems share with Neural Networks got me started in topics of information storage and processing in complex systems. Then I moved to Italy with a fellowship from UNESCO to work with Professor Marcelo Magnasco at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste. In 2004 I came to the University of Manchester with a fellowship from the Human Frontier Science Program. After a fellowship from the MRC between 2006 and 2010 I became a Lecturer here in Manchester.
