External Examiner
I have been an external examiner to York University for MSc theses in Artificial Intelligence and for PhD’s at Brunel University.
One of the recent MSc’s that I refereed for York University was for Mr. Aaron Turner MSc thesis in the Department of Computer Science in 1997. This entailed the writing of a two page degree of master of research external examiners report and three pages of amendments.
The last external PhD examination I undertook was for Mr. S.M. Salehi-Reyhani in the department of electrical engineering at Brunel, in July 2001. In my role as external examiner, I compiled a 20 page final external examiners report that included all the questions covered in the viva voce and a set of amendments that the student was requested to make.
