Study abroad destinations
At Manchester we have excellent relationships with numerous partner universities both in and outside Europe, where you could study abroad for up to a year.
Many of our academic Schools have subject-to-subject exchanges with European universities (for example Geography in Manchester has a link with the geography department in the Universidad de Granada in Spain). These agreements are known as Erasmus exchange agreements.
Programmes in Europe are supported by the Commission of the European Communities within the Lifelong Learning Erasmus Programme. For more information on Erasmus, see the British Council website.
Where you can go will depend on the links established by your particular subject area.
We have many exchange partners outside of Europe. Most of these partnerships are not subject-specific and are open to students from most subject areas across our University.
