Life on campus
People come from all over the UK and across the world to study at this university. Much like the city of Manchester, our institution is truly multicultural. With around 7,400 international students from 180 countries we have one of the most diverse student populations in the UK.
We embrace this difference and diversity, and want talented people to study here whatever their background. Don't forget you can help fund your studies with both government support and, depending upon your household income, University of Manchester scholarships and bursaries.

Investing in our campus
So far we've invested more than £400m into transforming our campus, the biggest investment ever seen in UK higher education history. World-class sports facilities and the cultural gems of the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Museum, Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, and the Contact Theatre are also here on campus, while our creative, energetic city is right on your doorstep.
You are guaranteed a room in a University hall of residence in your first year, if you respond before our deadline, while international students have this guarantee for the duration of their study. Our great-value accommodation includes on-site personal support if you need it and fast broadband connections in every room.
