National Science and Engineering Week 2012

Science and Engineering Week is a national event to help create awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects amongst learners of all ages. As part of this event the University is hosting a programme of exciting hands-on activities:

Science Extravaganza

From Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 March we are offering a programme of interactive workshops, demonstrations and lectures aimed at pupils in Years 7 to 9. The programme, which takes place during National Science and Engineering Week, runs throughout the day and each school can bring up to 25 pupils.

Booking

Please note that the programme is open to pupils in Years 7 to 9 and each school can bring a maximum of 25 pupils. There is no charge for this event and bookings can be made online using the links below. The event runs from 10am to 2.30pm and pupils will need to bring a packed lunch.

What Do Psychological Scientists Do?

Join us on 14 March 2012 for an afternoon of interactive talks where scientists from the School of Psychological Sciences bring along an object they use in their everyday research and use it as a starting point to explain aspects of their work.

This event, which will run from 1.15pm to 4pm, is open to pupils from Year 10 to Year 13 who are interested in finding out more about Psychological Sciences (Psychology; Clinical Psychology; Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy).
