We run two annual conferences for teachers and careers advisers.
National Teachers and Advisers Conference
Wednesday, 14 May 2014
Our National Teachers and Advisers Conference is aimed at staff with a responsibility for supporting their students' progression to higher education within their institution or organisation.
This conference enables teachers and advisers to keep up-to-date with changes within the sector so they are able to provide the most relevant and current advice and guidance to students.
Booking for the conference will open in early 2014. However, if you are interested in attending the conference, you can register your interest and we will email you as soon as further information is available and booking is open.
Tuesday, 24 June 2014 - for teachers of Maths and Physics
Wednesday, 25 June 2014 - for teachers of Biology and Chemistry
Our Maths and Sciences Teachers Conference provides an opportunity for teachers of Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry to find out more about research taking place at The University of Manchester that will be relevant to your own professional development.
Through attending our keynote lectures, a panel discussion and a choice of workshops, you will gain insight into the latest research that's pushing the boundaries of knowledge – often through interdisciplinary collaboration or the use of hi-tech processes.
You'll get an update on diverse research areas that are underpinned by knowledge and skills first taught at school in Maths and Science subjects, providing content for you to translate it into classroom teaching.
If you’ve ever wondered what research is happening now at universities in your field of expertise, or wanted an up-to-date example to illustrate to your students the purpose and application of your subjects, then this conference will be of relevance to you. Our aim is to update and inspire teachers and others who work in schools, and provide exciting new insights for you to take back to the classroom.
You can attend one or both of days of the conference, in accordance with your interests and responsibilities.
Booking for the conference will open in 2014. However, if you are interested in attending the conference, you can register your interest and we will email you as soon as further information is available and booking is open.
