Student life

Manchester is an amazing place to spend your student years. As well as gaining a degree that is well respected by employers around the world, you can enjoy all the attractions of a major city.

Excellence in teaching and student support

As a student at Manchester you'll have access to unrivalled facilities. Our libraries and computing facilities are amongst the largest in the UK, and our innovative teaching methods will challenge you to get the most out of your course.

As well as succeeding academically, we want to make sure you enjoy your time in Manchester, so we'll be there to support you every step of the way.

Out and about

Manchester has something for everyone, from restaurants and pubs, to cinemas, shops and live music venues. Our guide to the city of Manchester gives you idea of what to expect.

Getting involved

Whether you want to take part or just spectate, Manchester has it all for the sports enthusiast. We have excellent facilities on campus and loads of clubs and teams for students of all abilities to join.

We also have the largest Students' Union in Europe. Student nights at the Union are legendary, but the Union also runs hundreds of societies for you to join and campaigns across a range of important issues. If you fancy yourself as a budding politician you can even run for election to one of the Union's eight full-time sabbatical posts.
