Hebrew Manuscripts added to Manchester Digital Collections

The John Rylands Research Institute and Library is delighted to announce the addition of over a hundred manuscripts to the Hebrew Manuscripts collection on Manchester Digital Collections.

Our internationally-renowned Hebrew collections are astonishingly diverse, covering all aspects of Jewish life as lived in Europe, North Africa and further afield. These manuscripts have been digitised and catalogued as part of an ongoing project led by Professor Philip Alexander and Professor Alexander Samely, and thanks to generous external funding.

For the first time, expert catalogue descriptions by Research Associate Dr Zsófia Buda, developed from previous work by Professor Alexander Samely and Dr Stefania Silvestri, are available alongside ultra-high-quality images of the items themselves.
