Societies for international students
The University of Manchester has more than 7,000 international students based on campus, from over 180 countries worldwide. This makes for an exciting and multicultural atmosphere and there are many organisations dedicated to ensuring that you make the most of your time in the UK.
The International Society
The International Society is an independent, not-for-profit organisation unique to Manchester. Based on Oxford Road it provides a social and supportive environment for all international students.
UMSU International Societies
The University of Manchester Students' Union is home to many international societies which are run by students. They allow students of similar nationalities and/or faiths to meet informally. Most societies organise events (socials) and other activities.
The Athletic Union has over 40 clubs and almost 2,000 members, and students of all sporting abilities are welcome. Playing sports is one of the best ways to make the most of your time at university. It's also a good way to make friends and get fit.
In addition to international societies, the Students' Union is home to a wide range of other social groups.
