Miss Laura Smith (BSc) - personal details
Laura began her career working at the University of Manchester as an Animal Technician in 2001.
During this time she completed her Certificate in Animal Technology (CIAT) and was granted a personal license (Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986).
In 2004 Laura spent a short period working for a cancer research company based in London (Antisoma plc) as a Research Assistant.
In 2006 Laura worked at AstraZeneca as an Animal Technician at their Alderley Park branch.
In 2007 Laura rejoined the University of Manchester as a Research Technician initially working in Professor Alan North's group.
In 2008 Laura started working for two research groups with Dr Maria Canal and Dr Natalie Gardiner. She also completed a HNC in Applied BioMedical Science.
In 2015 Laura graduated with a BSc (Hons) First Class in Biology from Manchester Metropolitan University. Laura is currently studying part-time for an MA (Master's by Research) at MMU and working in Dr David Bechtold's research group as a Research Technician.
