Biography

 

Nicholas Yannelis studied undergraduate economics at the Athens School of Economics and pursued graduate studies at the London School of Economics and at the University of Rochester where he obtained his PhD in economics under the direction of Lionel McKenzie. He is currently the Editor of Economic Theory and Associate Editor of Journal of Mathematical Economics.
 

Nicholas was a Hallsworth Visiting Professor at Manchester in the years 2006-8 before taking up his appointment as the Sir John Hicks Professor of Economic Theory in 2009. He is also the Henry B. Tippie Research Professor of Economics at the University of Iow, and the Emeritus Commerce Distinguished Alumni Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois.

 

He is co-organsier of the international workshops in Economic Theory, held at Manchester, and Treasurer of the Society for the Advancement of  Economic Theory.
