Biography

Masoud Jamei is the head of Modelling and Simulation and acting head of Systems Pharmacology groups at Simcyp Limited (a Certara company). Since joining Simcyp in 2003 he has worked on different aspects of model-based drug development (MBDD) and extrapolation of in vitro data to predict in vivo PK/PD properties in virtual populations. His current research is mainly concerned with development and implementation of Physiologically-Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models which includes metabolism- and transport-mediated interaction of drugs and their metabolites. Bridging bottom-up and top-down paradigms and their applications in PBPK models is another facet of his research activities.

Memberships of Committees and Professional Bodies

He is a vice-chair of the BPS Special Interest Group on PK/PD and Systems Pharmacology and a steering committee member of AAPS Systems Biology Focus Group.
